In case you missed it, I had asked if people would rather read a post on my 5 favorite home organizing hacks or deep cleaning hacks and it was a close race! In the end, I think the majority of us are already thinking spring and along with that… spring cleaning.
Now, the first thing I’m going to let you know is that I am not a merry maid. I do not enjoy extensive cleaning, so any lazy girl hack that gets job done well, I utilize. I also prefer to work on a little bit at a time, moving room to room over a few days instead of trying to get it all done in one long and exhausting day.
1. Carpets
To keep my carpets as white as my sweet little dog Alice through out the year I had to invest in a spotbot. This Hoover model is great because it uses suction and deep cleaning it remove stains on carpet and upholstery and also has a self cleaning hose. I don’t even have to put carpet solution or chemicals into the tank, I just use hot water and it works great!

2. Tile Grout
Whether it’s in a bathroom, entry way, or kitchen I feel that the grout between tiles just absorbs so many germs and dirt and debris from foot traffic. In order to feel like my floors are disinfected, I use toilet bowl cleaner and scrub with a tooth brush to get it all out. This hack could also work on grout if you have tiled walls in your bathroom or shower or even backsplash in the kitchen.
3. Kitchen Sink
To make my steel shine it’s brightest, I apply baking soda and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I scrub it up a bit using a gritty sponge and let it sit another 10 minutes to loosen up any of the built up grime. Then I rinse it all and wipe it down and it just sparkles!
4. Stove Top
I love to cook, but I’m definitely not the cleanest chef. My glass stove top seems to take a lot of abuse, and so I had to find a product that would loosen up and help me wipe away any burnt on food remnants.
Parker & Bailey’s cleaner is the best one I’ve used to date, especially because the scent is not as offensive as some of the other harsher cleaners but it still works wonders! Check out the before and after below! The solution can be purchased here.
5. Everything else
My absolute favorite cleaning trick up my sleeve is truly magic. It’s a Mr. Clean magic eraser. Seriously guys if you haven’t used one you need to see the light! It’s good for anything and everything that’s tough to clean. I don’t know how it works but it hasn’t failed me yet!
I hope you guys have a wonderful week! I know this wasn’t the most glamorous blog post but I hope you found it helpful. Not everyone loves to clean, but no one loves a dirty house. If you decide to get started I found this great cleaning schedule on CasualClaire.com to help you break down everything into a nice checklist
